Lowering internet, phone and other bills

Providers often have better prices than the one you're paying, especially for new customers. Asking takes a short phone call or chat, and the worst answer is no.

Step by step

  1. Know what you pay and use

Look at your last bill: price, speed or data plan, and any equipment fees.

  2. Check current offers

Look up what your provider and its competitors charge new customers for the same service.

  3. Ask for the retention or loyalty team

They usually have more flexibility than general customer service.

  4. Ask clearly and politely

Name the competitor price and ask if they can match or beat it.

  5. Get it in writing

Ask for the new price, how long it lasts, and whether it requires a contract, and keep the confirmation.

Good to know: Promotional rates often last 12 months. Set a reminder for a month before the promotion ends so you can ask again.
